F France, Autumn in Spain is the Shhh.
We’ve just returned from our annual Surf & Yoga week at the piqturesque Latas Surf House in Northern Spain, exhausted from the dredging barrels and sick of the sight of some of the world’s most beautiful lineups. Think empty beach breaks with snow-capped mountains as a backdrop, sketchy reef-breaks breaking on the doorstep of a big city. Waves from all directions, meaning it’s always offshore somewhere. Waves the rivaled it’s neighbour France, yet we had no one to share them with. Anyway our boards are still finless and the surf followed us home to Newquay, so I’m going to let these pictures do the talking. All shots by Lewis.
The intermediate group going in for a first day splash. Oh and an absolutely perfect right hander
Perfect left, blue sea, manor house
Yes he made it out
The infamous Santa Marina was working. With no takers
Beginner’s instructor Will Jessup barely containing his froth
Smiles all round
More smiles
The lesser-used double thumbs up by Gopala
Tom concentrating on perfecting that stance
One or two drop-ins, tut tut
Huge waves, city backdrop, check
Whilst thousands crammed into the beaches of SW France, we had waves of the same quality all to ourselves
Intermediate surfer Ross on a chunky one
Follett transfering his skate skills to the sea
Sam on a nice right
Aiden getting aggressive
Yours truly taking a high line
Aiden Wright taking a higher line
Boat
Ahh the double shaka, “woooo”, girl standing up shot. Classic
What I’d do for a 4pm nipple out chill out right now
Adios, party time
As that was such a blast, we’ve booked up the surf house for a week from 10th – 17th May 2015, for our third Surf and Yoga week. Yep, Spring in Spain; think more sun and smaller waves. We’ve also made some small changes for the better (surf lesson times, food) but kept the same ridiculous price of £249, including:

- Welcome BBQ and party
- Yoga @ 7am & 4pm daily
