The top European surfers from 13 nations are in the North West coast of Ireland as the world renowned reef break at Bundoran hosts the European Surfing Championships.
After a nice long drive-ferry-drive the English team finally touched down in the Emerald Isle and their moans of numb asses were soon dismissed when they met up with Oli Adams, who had flown in from the Maldives to represent his country. Good on you Oli! The rest of the English team are as follows:
Open – Tom Butler (Newquay), Oli Adams (Newquay), Johnny Fryer (IOW), Alan Stokes (Newquay)
Ladies – Sarah Beardmore (Poole), Gabi Rowe (Looe)
Longboard – Adam Griffiths (Newquay), Ben Howarth (Woolacombe)
Bodyboard – Remy Geffroy (London), Rob Barber (Newquay)
Ladies Bodyboard – Tabi Fox (Woolacombe)
Senior – Tyson Greenaway (Hayle)
Master – Mike Raven (Bude)
The seven days of competitive surfing began on Sunday 25th with the finals scheduled to be completed Sunday 2nd October and you can watch how the guys get on LIVE here.
The current climate of austerity hasn’t allowed the English Team to find a sole sponsor, but a whole load of businesses have showed their support to whom the team are extremely grateful. Massive thanks to:
