Did you book a trip to Moliets or Zarautz this year? Then don’t forget to make a trip to San Sebastián, a day trip that the surf camps themselves also offer. Besides the fact that the city has three beaches which makes it a mecca for surfers, San Sebastián is also called the culinary capital of Spain. In this city you will find the popular snacks called pintxos. We listed five excellent spots where you can enjoy these delicious snacks.
If you are not yet familiar with pintxos, these are small snacks on a slice of baguette. Think of fish, salads, meat, vegetables or a combination of these. The baguette and the ingredients are held together by sticks, this is where the name ‘pintxos’ comes from. In Basque, ‘pintxos’ means a sticks.
In most restaurants the cold pintxos are displayed on large trays on the counter and you can grab them yourself. How much you should pay is calculated by counting the skewers when you are finished.
