In June 2020, Sander and Sophie traveled all the way from Amsterdam to Portugal to follow one of Errant Surf’s recommendations. We hopped on a call with them after the trip and here’s how they liked the Glamping Plus experience – true camping in style! ”On the end of the night, we even got a bottle of champagne. What a way to celebrate our first holiday together”, Sander told us.
A surf trip for couples in Portugal
When you are looking for a brilliant get-a-way with your other half, there’s absolutely no need to look any further. Portugal’s home to many surf camps and the one Sander and Sophie went to might be the best of them all. ”Even people that have never done camping before will absolutely love this”, Sander told us. After a visit to Morocco, where he had been surfing (article in Dutch), he knew what the trip to Portugal would be about. However, besides the surfing, there had to be more. Olmo from Errant Surf: ”it felt like our goal to make sure these two lovebirds would get the service and quality they were seeking and there’s no better place for that than the Glamping Plus in Alentejo. Inevitably it’s among our favorite spots that are ideal for surf trips for couples.
Everything is arranged for you
At this surf camp, just 2 hours south of Lisbon, everything is taken care off for you and your other half. The 3 meals you get per day are truly amazing. Think about a dinner-experience which would make you think back to that restaurant where you had your wedding-aniversary dinner.
The tents are large and spacious with creative decoration. That’s something you will see all around the surf camp. You are just meters away from the beautiful cliffs, overlooking one of the most beautiful parts of the Portuguese coast – a claim we truly believe in. The water’s calm normally and this wouldn’t be the surf spot for people with years of experience. However, for beginners to intermediate surfers, this is a great spot. In our list with best surf camps for beginners, you will find this camp and the surf camp from the same organiser, which is just 150 meters away.
When staying in the Glamping Plus, you will get the best of both worlds. You can at all times walk over to that main camp, while hanging out with the people there, use the skate-ramp or the ping-pong table. Or you can just stay where you are and enjoy the ideal surf trip for couples in pure tranquility.
Tranquility does not mean there aren’t any drinks included. All guests are welcomed with an amazing bottle of local wine and Sander and Sophie were lucky enough to also enjoy a bottle of cold bubbles. What a way to spend your holiday in Portugal.
