Learn to Hang Five at the Longboard Weekend 16th – 17th July 2011
Based in Newquay, Errant Surf will be running its 12th longboard coaching weekend on the 16th and 17th July 2011.
The two-day course covers surfing technique (cross stepping, nose riding, generating speed, etc.), fitness in surfing, board design, oceanography and more. Just check some of the feedback from our spring longboard coaching weekend:
“Essential for anybody who wants to take their longboarding to the next level. Nothing was too much trouble, and we even got to surf more than advertised, can’t say fairer than that. The video footage and feedback at the end of each day really highlighted our problem areas, and it gave us all something to work on for the next day. Highly recommended!”
“Really enjoyed this longboarding weekend and thought the coaching was excellent: the use of video was scary but so useful. Chris is fantastic at creating a non-judgemental, supportive and friendly environment. He is adept at picking up those small things that you don’t realise you do and giving you ideas on how to change them to improve your surfing. Accommodation in a local B&B, organised by Errant, was also really friendly and good value. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants high quality surf coaching. I think, whatever level surfer you are, you would learn something.”
We suggest arriving on Friday evening, from here you will be able to chill out or have a few drinks in Newquay. The next day the course starts at 10am, depending on the surf conditions we will aim to have an initial surf session to evaluate everyone’s level. From here on in, the course structure is designed to fit with the best tides, and location. We normally finish up around 4pm on Sunday allowing plenty of time for people to head off in the car, or catch the plan home
Errant Surf is also very proud to announce our sponsorship with Science in Sport, the UK’s top leader in sports nutrition products and lush longboard skateboards. If you fancy trying out a new style of longboard we have over a dozen different boards for you to pick and choose from. A quick trip to the workshop of Will Eastham (Surfboards UK) and a chance to see a board being made and ask as many questions about board design as you like.
