Lucia Griggi’s Surf Photography – Who to follow on Instagram?

Here’s Internationally respected surf photog, Lucia Griggi‘s third Photography guest blog for Errant Surf:
As Instagram continues to grow, so does the flurry of those little squares. Every travel canvas imaginable is right there to inspire you. From high end surf action scenes to empty wave shots, being up close with surfers to capturing vast open spaces, local surf culture to discovering new waters – the possibilities are endless.
While it’s easy to get lost in the grand collage of faces, names and images, I’ve pulled together some of the best surf photographer bloggers who are busy instragramming their way around the world for a quick fix inspiration list.

Describing himself as a ‘fish’, Clark’s shots are inviting, vivid and extremely creative. Capturing everything from ocean scenes to empty waves, his shots capture emotion and movement so you always get a real feel for what’s going on in the scene and under the waves. He’s also a top swimmer too.
Best For… Visual Storytelling

Chris is a surf adventure junkie and his Instagram is full of adrenalin activities and incredible landscape images captured from some of the world’s most beautiful surf destinations and hikes. If you are looking for a new challenge, you can always set yourself one from Chris’s already accomplished list.

Todd’s travels take him to many remote locations from Fiji to Tahiti, Puerto Rico to Mexico. Based in his hometown of San Diego, California, Todd works as a staff photographer for Surfer Magazine and is Slater’s personal clicker! Shooting the best in the world allows Todd to capture some great moments in surfing history.
Best For… Idyllic Location
@Tim McKenna  – Tim McKenna

An eclectic mix of everything from travel, fashion to beautiful girls, this Instragram feed pretty much captures a little bit of everything – landscape, travel, people, tourism – with a range of filters, colours and styles. It’s like stepping into the picturesque whirlwind of someone’s travel dreams.  Oh no wait, you are.
Best For… Cold Culture
@yassineouhilal- Yassine Ouhilal

Yassine Ouhilal is a photographer and filmmaker known for pioneering and documenting new and unchartered surf destinations including several in Arctic regions. In his spare time, Yassine enjoys surfing- usually in cold and uncrowded waves! Who would blame him!”
