Surf holidays in Spain, which one to choose?

Surf holidays in Spain can be mainly booked at two locations, the Northern and the Western Coasts. Especially in the north, there are loads of surf camps, all offering a unique experience. And besides surfing, Spain has so much more to offer. Think about the warm and welcoming people, the amazing gastronomy (both food and beverages), the nature and so much more. The country has a rich culture and that can be witnessed all over the country. The possibility to combine the surf with sightseeing and many other ways of joy makes Spain one of our favourite picks for a surf holiday.

There are many options when looking for surf holidays in Spain. Think about the amazing Star Surf Camp in Oyambre or the Surf Camp in Zarautz, just outside of the beautiful San Sebastian. It depends on what you are looking for, really. And the people you are traveling with – or not. Are you looking for a surf holiday for families in Spain or one which is ideal for solo travellers? As said, we have you covered.

Where to go to for my surf holidays in Spain?

When choosing the spot for your surfing holidays in Spain, there are 2 main options. Even though the Spanish East coast does get some waves (on average about once a month, and nothing too exciting) the country’s main regions for surf holidays are the entire Northern Coast (incl. the Western part of Galicia) and the ‘Costa de la Luz’, around Cádiz. This second option does not really work between May and October but during the winter months you can have amazing surf hear. The Northern Coast is amazing for novice surfers so that would be one of our top picks when looking for your first surf holiday.
