Surfing holidays for families, of which you can find an overview on this page, are holidays that are suitable for families. With families we mean one- and two-parent families and it is also possible that it concerns a family with one or more kids, in the age of 0 to 25.
We often get the question what the best surf spots are for families. There are of course some other things to consider compared to surfing holidays for solo travellers or groups of friends. The most important thing is that the surf spot is safe for families with (young) children. It is very important to visit a surf spot where there are no rocks in the water. Oyambre in Northern Spain is a great choice for a family surf holiday. Here you will find a large sandy beach with waves that do not get too high as the beach is sheltered in a bay. Located in the Basque Country, Zarautz is near San Sebastian and is one of the most popular surf destinations in Europe. The town is also popular for its excellent Basque cuisine and many cosy restaurants and terraces.
Located on the Atlantic Ocean, Moliets is one of the most popular family surfing destinations. This is partly due to the excellent waves, and the large number of surf schools and surf camps that can be found here. In this village, you will also find a number of cosy terraces and bars where many families like to go.
