Surfing in Morocco
The title says it all, surfing in Morocco! But what’s about it that makes it such special? Well there are a number of reasons. The area around Agadir, where most of the surfing takes place, is very rich in terms of culture and gastronomy. Morocco hosts 4 amazing cities that are all featured on UNESCO’s World Heritage List incl. Marrakech, Essaouira, Fez and Tetouan. You might not visit all of them during your surf holidays in Morocco but it’s well possible to visit the first two of these anyway.
One of the things we – The Errant Surf Travel team – really like about our friends at Blue Waves Morocco is that they are all about surfing. The nearby Taghazout is the most famous but also the most busy. They’ve chosen the spots that are nearby, offer very similar waves but are slightly less crowded. A win-win when it comes to surfing in Morocco.

Surf holidays in Morocco: food
When we say Morocco, we say tajine. These typically Moroccan pots are able to prepare flavours you’ve never tasted in your life. It ranges from a tender piece of chicken to loads of vegatarian options with the rich spices from the area being present. Also in the surf camp in Anza, close to both Agadir and Taghazout, you won’t leave before having tried a fresh meal made in a tajine.

Surf holidays in Morocco: excursions
There is just too much to do to all fit in one week and for that reason there are many people that book a 2 week stay in the surf camp. Besides the surfing, you can do much more in this part of Morocco. Think about the famous market (zouk) in Agadir, ride a camel on the beach or a ride a quad in the desert, visit Paradise Valley, Marrakech or Essaouira or enjoy a massage to give your muscles some rest after a heavy session of surfing.
Surf and yoga holidays in Morocco
At the surf camps in Tamraght and Anza, it’s possible to combine the surfing with yoga. Check out their page to get to know more about the options. Many many surfers have happily combined these two activities during their holidays and we know why!
